Luxury carmakers are set to launch nine new cars and SUVs in India this year, and if you’re in the market for one, you might want to take a look at this list. These cars not only include updates for existing models but also new cars and SUVs too.

New Mercedes Benz E-Class

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class will soon receive a generational update in India, and arrive here in the long-wheelbase format only. Mercedes is expected to retain the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel and 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine options seen on the outgoing model, with some updates. It will be 15mm longer, 20mm wider and 17mm longer than its predecessor.

New BMW 5 Series

The new BMW i5's ICE counterpart, the next-gen 5 Series, will follow soon launch in India in eighth-gen guide this festive season. The BMW 5 Series will come in long wheelbase guise opposed to the i5, which gets the regular wheelbase option in India.

Audi Q6 e-tron

The upcoming Q6 e-tron is the first Audi built on the Group's PPE platform that's set to underpin future EV models. The electric SUV will arrive in the country by the end of this year, and it’s likely to be offered with an 83kWh battery pack and two-wheel drive, and be priced between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 80 lakh mark. Audi Q8 facelift

The Audi Q8 facelift made its global debut in September last year, but it's finally headed to India in the coming months. The updated SUV gets a light makeover and a feature upgrade over the outgoing model. The Q8 facelift will likely continue to be a full import, and is expected to retain its existing powertrains.

Mercedes Maybach EQS SUV

The all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be available in ‘680’ form – a 108.4kWh battery, two electric motors with a total output of 658hp and 950Nm, and have a range of up to 600km. This will help this big, luxurious SUV sprint to 100kph in 4.4 seconds. Expect prices to be in the Rs 4 crore region.

Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe

The GLC Coupe will be a swanky alternative to the GLC SUV with a similar design, but it will get a raked roofline with a plunging tailgate. The Coupe is likely to share its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre diesel powertrain options with the SUV, and a performance-oriented AMG version is also likely to be on offer.

Mercedes Benz GLB facelift

The GLB facelift is expected to arrive in the coming months as a part of Mercedes' 12 car launch overhaul with cosmetic changes and updates to the infotainment system. The petrol and diesel engines with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system are expected to remain unchanged, and prices will likely be in the Rs 65 lakh-70 lakh region.

New Mini Countryman

The third-gen Mini Countryman made its global debut in September 2023, and is now headed to India. The SUV is larger than its predecessor, and is offered with three petrol and an all-electric powertrain overseas. Design changes include an octagonal front grille, revamped headlights and tail-lights, and a new minimalistic cabin layout as seen on the Cooper. Expect specs for India-spec new Mini Countryman to be available closer to launch.

New Mini Cooper electric

Unveiled alongside the new Countryman, the new Cooper electric is built on a dedicated EV platform, unlike the previous-gen Cooper SE. Likely to be launched in the third quarter of this year, the new Cooper electric is globally available in two variants: Cooper E with 184hp front-mounted motor, and a 40.7kWh battery with a 305km range; and Cooper SE with 218hp and a larger 54.2kWh battery that gives it a claimed range of 402km. It is yet to be seen if Mini will introduce both variants in India.
