Bajaj Chetak 2901 details, price

A month ago, we exclusively reported the upcoming launch of a more affordable Chetak variant. That scooter has now been launched and it's called the Bajaj Chetak 2901.

Colour LCD on the Chetak 2901 can also be found on Chetak Urbane

While the spied images showed it with a monotone LCD, the website shows that it gets the same colour LCD found on the Chetak Urbane. The new Chetak 2901 features the same design as the rest of the range but misses out on some features. For instance, the standard Chetak 2901 comes equipped with a set of steel wheels and only one riding mode, but Bajaj has made a few more features available with the TecPac.

Bajaj has equipped this sub 1 lakh electric scooter with a full metal body

This unlocks features like 2 riding modes (Eco & Sport), a reverse mode, hill hold assist, and alloy wheels. All of this costs just Rs 3000. It is also worth mentioning the Chetak 2901 gets an off-board charger like the Chetak Urbane. Bajaj currently only offers the Chetak Premium with an on-board charger.

Alloy wheels and hill hold assist available with TecPac

The most affordable Chetak shares its battery with the mid-spec Chetak Urbane, which is 2.9 kWh and promises a range of 123 km. Bajaj however, Bajaj also reduced the top speed to 63 kph, and the charging time here is slower with a full charge taking a claimed 6 hours. The new Bajaj Chetak 2901 is available for Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom India). Currently, the Bajaj Chetak 2901 rivals the TVS iQube 2.2, Ather Rizta S, and the Ola S1 Air.
