Skoda Octavia facelift global debut on February 14

Skoda Octavia facelift front quarter

Skoda will take the wraps off the Octavia facelift on February 14. The car’s new design has been previewed by a series of sketches that reveal sleeker styling. Skoda has also confirmed that the Sportline and range-topping vRS variants will continue.

  1. Updated Octavia will get some design tweaks
  2. No powertrain changes are expected
  3. Octavia EV could be shown in this decade

Skoda Octavia facelift: what all will be new?

The biggest changes to the design come in the form of redesigned bumpers and a new front grille. As such, it now sports a sharper look, while new headlights complete the new-look front end.

Skoda hasn’t yet announced which powertrains will be offered on the facelifted model, but it’s safe to assume a selection of 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 2.0-litre turbo diesel and mild-hybrid powertrains will return, similar to the pre-facelift range.

A plug-in powertrain could join the line-up too, as with the Kodiaq and Superb. Their PHEV option pairs a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor for a total output of 204hp.

Skoda Octavia EV being readied too

As reported by us back in 2022, the Octavia will also gain an electric variant later this decade. It’s expected to feature a more advanced version of the Volkswagen Group brand’s 89kWh battery, which is due next year with a WLTP range of more than 595km and a charging rate of up to 200kW.

Skoda Octavia facelift: will it come to India?

There is no word on Skoda bringing this refreshed Octavia to India, though there was speculation that the brand may introduce the Octavia RS iV with plug-in hybrid tech in limited numbers. The sedan was on sale in India for over 20 years, officially selling over 1 lakh units.

There were talks of the Superb making a comeback as well. However, there's no update on this front either. What's definitely on cards for India is the Enyaq iV electric SUV that's slated to launch in the second half of this year.
