Having launched the C3 Aircross automatic, with introductory prices starting at Rs 12.85 lakh and going up to Rs 13.85 lakh, Citroen has also revealed the ARAI fuel-efficiency figure for the model. Powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the standard SUV, the automatic C3 Aircross gets the same 110hp, but 15Nm of torque more at 205Nm. In addition, this engine-gearbox combination is rated at 17.6kpl by ARAI.

  1. Citroen C3 Aircross AT fuel efficiency is 17.6kpl (ARAI)
  2. C3 Aircross AT less frugal than most automatic midsize SUVs
  3. Honda Elevate is the only midsize SUV with a lower mileage figure

Volkswagen Taigun 1.0T/1.5T 18.15kpl/19.01kpl
Skoda Kushaq 1.0T/1.5T 18.09kpl/18.86kpl

From the table above, one can see that Citroen’s midsize SUV lags behind its European contemporaries, and most of its Japanese and Korean rivals. Interestingly, the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun use the same Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox with their respective 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines, and they are also more efficient than the C3 Aircross. However, the C3 Aircross automatic goes further on a litre of petrol than the Honda Elevate, with its 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and CVT gearbox.
