Aprilia RS 457 price, India launch details, power, design.

Piaggio India has been steadily working towards the launch of the Aprilia RS 457, which was first showcased during the Indian MotoGP round in September. The company is now, finally, about to reveal the price at India Bike Week.

  1. Likely to be priced under Rs 4 lakh, ex-showroom
  2. Will be positioned above the KTM RC 390
  3. Packs a twin-cyl 457cc motor that makes 48hp

A few weeks back, we exclusively reported that Piaggio was planning a premium positioning for the Aprilia RS 457, but that a price under Rs 4 lakh rupees was being targeted – read more here. The company is now gearing up to unveil the price at India Bike Week on December 8, 2023.

The RS 457 is the first motorcycle that will be locally manufactured by Piaggio at its Baramati plant in India, and it is a product that will be exported from here as well. The bike will compete against the likes of the KTM RC 390 and the Yamaha R3, which will also be launched in India in December.

The Aprilia is the only bike in its class with an aluminium chassis and it also packs electronic riding assists like traction control and riding modes. With a new twin-cylinder motor that produces 48hp, the bike will also be the most powerful in the segment and it weighs in at 175kg, which is also a little more than its rivals.

We expect the Aprilia RS 457 to be priced between the KTM RC 390 (Rs 3.18 lakh) and the Yamaha (Rs 4 lakh-4.5 lakh, estimated), and significantly lower than the Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Rs 5.24 lakh), which is its closest competitor on paper.

All prices ex-showroom, India
