Mahindra Scorpio N: 7,000 units to be delivered in first 10 days

According to the latest announcement, Mahindra has confirmed that it will focus on delivering as many as 7,000 Scorpio N units to customers in the first 10 days, starting September 26. These would most likely include only the top-spec Z8 L variant.

Bookings for the Scorpio N began on July 30 and the company had claimed that it gathered around one lakh bookings within the first 30 minutes. While there was a technical glitch in the online booking process, Mahindra was quick to acknowledge the issue and clarified that the booking system recorded the time stamps when the customer hit the payment button.

As mentioned earlier, the top-spec Scorpio N Z8 L is the most in demand and Mahindra will first deliver this variant to its customers. The Scorpio Z8 L comes loaded with all the bells and whistles and is available in seven exterior paint shades.

Mahindra's order backlog as of August 2022

While Mahindra has not announced the total number of bookings received for the Scorpio N, the brand already has a huge order backlog of undelivered units of its other popular SUVs like the XUV700 and the Thar, in addition to pending deliveries of the Bolero line-up and the XUV300.  Dealers tell us that the XUV700 AX line-up still has a waiting period of around 70 weeks, however, the MX range can be delivered in around three months' time. While the XUV700's order backlog continues to pile up, waiting period for the Thar has now come down to around four months for the diesel versions and even lesser for the petrol, according to a few dealers we spoke to.
