2022 TVS iQube e-scooter: 5 things to know

0

As one of the very few mainstream two-wheeler manufacturers to take an early plunge into EVs, TVS has been able to gather valuable insights about the electric two-wheeler market with its iQube electric scooter. Using those learnings, the brand has now comprehensively updated its iQube for 2022. Here’s what’s new:

Updated TVS iQube comes in 3 variants

The iQube was earlier offered in just one variant in a single colour option (likely to keep production costs down in the early low-volume stages). But the company has now added two variants above the base version, called the S and the ST. So, customers now have options when it comes to colours, range, features and charging options.

2022 TVS iQube has longer range

When first launched in January 2020, the iQube promised 75km of real-world range from its 2.2kWh battery pack. Now, the base variant and the S version get a larger 3.4kWh battery pack which TVS says is good for 100km real-world range, while the ST goes even further with a massive 5.1kWh battery pack that promises 140km real-world range.

Updated TVS iQube gets new features

The base variant of the iQube continues to get the 5.0-inch colour TFT display that the scooter has had since the beginning, but the S and ST versions now get a 7.0-inch TFT display and in the case of the latter, it’s even a touchscreen. The scooter’s connected features have also been expanded, and the variants with the 7.0-inch screen even feature Alexa integration, where you can speak to your Alexa device at home to ask it various questions about your scooter, including the charge level. Also exclusive to the ST variant is a larger 32-litre underseat storage compartment.

2022 TVS iQube has more charging options

TVS is now also offering a number of charging options from its accessory portable chargers, including a fast charging option. The S and ST variants are compatible with 650W and 950W portable chargers, which promise charging times of 4.5 hours and 3 hours, respectively. The ST version also has the option of a 1.5kW portable fast charger.

2022 TVS iQube gets price cut

Despite all the new additions, the starting price of the iQube has actually seen a drop. At the time of its launch, the scooter was priced at Rs 1.15 lakh. Today, the base variant will cost you Rs 1.12 lakh, while the S version is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (all prices, on-road, Bengaluru). Prices for the ST version are yet to be announced.
