Toyota dealers are gearing up for the market introduction of the heavily updated Glanza, which will most likely see a price announcement by late March this year. As before, the new Glanza will be based on the Baleno, which will see the launch of its updated version on February 23, 2022.

2022 Toyota Glanza: bookings and expected launch details
The Glanza is manufactured by Maruti Suzuki and supplied to Toyota, and with Maruti Suzuki already having commenced series production of the new Baleno, Toyota dealers are left with very few unsold stocks on the outgoing Glanza. Most dealers offered the leftover units of the Glanza at a discount of around Rs 50,000 and as per the recent update, most of these units have been called for.
Now, as per dealer sources, the updated Toyota Glanza will follow in around a month's time after the launch of the 2022 Baleno. They have also revealed that all new bookings for the Glanza will be transferred to the new model, once it is introduced.
2022 Toyota Glanza: what all will be new?
Akin to the outgoing Baleno-Glanza siblings, the new Toyota Glanza will largely be similar to the updated Baleno. It will be a fresh new look with major sheet metal changes, and while the outgoing models were only differentiated by their grille and the logo, it remains to be seen what unique design bits the new Glanza gets.
On the inside, the Glanza is expected to see a notable update in terms of features and quality. Some of the highlights will include a new head-up display, six airbags, wireless phone connectivity and more. 2022 Toyota Glanza: engine and gearbox details
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed the 90hp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid tech for the new Baleno, which means the same will also be offered on the Toyota Glanza. While the engine will continue to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a major change will be a new AMT gearbox in place of the CVT unit from the outgoing model. The Glanza will also be the first Toyota model in India to be offered with an AMT gearbox. It remains to be seen if the 83hp, 1.2-litre K12N petrol engine is offered on both the models.
The outgoing Glanza was offered in only two variants (based on corresponding higher-spec variants of the Baleno), and while we recently revealed the variant break-up of the new Baleno, it remains to be seen in which variants the new Glanza is offered in. As before, Toyota is expected to differentiate the Glanza from the Baleno in terms of the warranty and service packages offered.
2022 Toyota Glanza: what will be the price difference?
Incidentally, just before introducing the new Glanza, Toyota hiked prices for the outgoing model. The G mild-hybrid variant with manual gearbox is now Rs 45,000 dearer, while prices of other variants have gone up by Rs 21,000. Prices for the Glanza currently range between Rs 7.70 lakh- 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It remains to be seen if, and by how much, Toyota marks up the price of the new Glanza over the outgoing model.
