0

Suzuki has showcased its updated Katana for 2022. The bike features a few minor changes that are expected to make it an improved overall package.

  • Suspension remains unchanged

  • Minor changes to airbox and exhaust

  • New ride-by-wire throttle

For 2022, the new Katana gets a new intake and exhaust camshaft, valve springs and a revised airbox and exhaust. These changes have helped take the bike’s power figure up by 2hp to 150hp. Other changes include a ride-by-wire throttle, updated ride modes and even an up/down quickshifter included as standard kit.

Suzuki also says it has updated the five-level traction control system for 2022. The handlebar has also been rubber-mounted and the slipper clutch has been updated. Other changes include an updated LCD instrumentation and new colour schemes.

The 2022 Katana features no other changes and it continues to be based on the GSX-S1000 platform. It uses the same lightweight aluminium frame and GSX-R-derived swingarm, with a fully adjustable KYB front fork and rear shock.

Suzuki hasn’t revealed the price, but it is expected to cost slightly more than the outgoing model.
